Ron Colman
Business Development and Hydrogeology
Sovereign Hydroseal

Ron is a hydrogeologist with a specific focus in providing pragmatic water management solutions incorporating applied principles of hydrogeology, geology and engineering. His extensive experience relates to projects involving mine dewatering and excess water disposal, small to large scale water supply development from groundwater resources, regional hydrogeological investigations and overall mine groundwater management, licensing, and compliance reporting. Ron has worked as a consultant, inhouse mine water manager and studies leader within Government.
In his current role at Sovereign Hydroseal, Ron is focussed on showing that there is an innovative and cost-effective way to control groundwater inflows to open pits and underground mines. There is a viable way to install inground barriers using proven technology that helps control and reduce the groundwater inflows. The barriers are site specific using existing, well proven, environmentally safe, inert polymer materials. Think “keyhole surgery with geological glue". This approach is aimed at changing mine dewatering from an ongoing operational cost to a finite capital cost with significant life-of-mine savings both in money and CO2 emissions.
